Numerical Study of Jet Impingement on Heated Sink Covered by a Porous Layer

This numerical study aims to enhance the heat transfer efficiency by dissipating Emitted from electronic processors. A jet impingement technique is utilized with porous layer covering a metal fin as sink. Forced convection and normal (due buoyancy effect) are taken into consideration. The two equations model (Local Thermal Non-Equilibrium LTNE) employed describe energy of phases surface. Finite Element Method (FEM) used discretize these obtain solution. To make this closest reality, constant flux boundary condition applied underneath metallic geometry comprises three domains: Free flow channel, Porous Metal fined In order simulate transfer, isotherms; streamlines Nusselt number have been considered. Investigation has done inspecting effects pertinent non-dimensional parameters such as: Reynolds (Re = 100-900), Darcy (Da 10-1-10-6), Richardson (Ri 0.1-100) Porosity (ε 0.85-0.95). results show that increasing Re decreasing ε lead number. below 100 no significant on Nu. At above 400, proportional enhancement found be 250 % 900, 290 0.95 0.85 about 13 10-6 10-1.
